“Inhale confidence, exhale doubt”

First, I want to apologize for the fact that I have been MIA. March has been one hell of a month that has been filled with so many exciting and stressful things. Let me break it down for you.

  • I had to create a big girl resume and cover letter
  • I had to actually apply to internships
    • Anyone who has been applying to internships knows how stressful this is. You proofread your resume 5 million times, you question if that’s how you actually spell your name,  and you question whether or not you can actually do the work.
  • My phone screen and battery are pretty much dead. Therefore I have to come up with the money to buy a new iPhone. Who knew that the iPhone 7 was $900?!?
  • Last week was honestly the week from hell. I had a stats test AND a Spanish test the same day. Let’s be real math is pretty much a language within itself.
  • Spring Break was a blast BUT I had 2 interviews for 2 different internships. I was sweating bullets.
  • After the interview,  I was checking my phone and email every minute

Honestly, when I read that list it doesn’t seem like much has happened this month. But, when this is all happening at once it can become overwhelming.

In regards to the 2 internships, I landed both of them!! I will be helping a local brewery with their social media and possibly helping with a wedding reception. My other internship is a marketing one with Live Nation. So hello to adulting, beer and concerts all summer long!

Now that I have successfully landed 2 internships I can kind of relax. I say kind of because my Spring semester ends in May. So please say a little prayer for me because that means tons of final projects and tests.

Here’s to March and the many opportunities it brought me!

PHOTO DIARY | COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG

Over Spring Break I made plans with my sister to take some cute photos! We both decided that going to Colonial Williamsburg would be the best place. This is because Colonial Williamsburg has a lot of history, cute brick roads, and a ton of Instagram-worthy photo opportunities (because that’s what matters).

One of the cool parts about Colonial Williamsburg is that you can basically walk anywhere! You can walk in and all around the houses. Also, you can go through gates that sometimes lead you to beautiful gardens like the one pictured behind me in the photo above! You never know what’s going to be around the corner!

While my sister & I were exploring we ran across a T.V set! My sister wanted to sneak in and snag some food but, I chickened out! I was afraid we would get caught because we would stick out like a sore thumb. Below is a photo of the catering truck! I bet the food was yummy.

*I believe they were shooting for a T.V show called “Turn: Washington’s Spies”. I regret not trying to sneak in with my sister!

My sister got some awesome photos of me in an elevator. In the first photo, I look a little scared because I was afraid that the elevator was going to go up or I was going to accidentally press a button! We weren’t supposed to be in there BUT it was totally worth it! The blue background really makes my shirt pop!

While we were shooting in the elevator we heard a loud buzzing noise and ran off! While we were running off we found another cool place to take some photos. The two photos below are definitely the ones that I love the most!

While walking around Colonial Williamsburg you will always see characters walking up and down the streets! It’s so cool to see their cute little costumes.

*I didn’t really think that woman was Little Red Riding Hood btw.

Exploring new places is always fun! I really enjoyed taking these photos with my sister. It was nice to just enjoy the beautiful weather we were (it was 30 degrees today)having!

It blows my mind that people travel from all over the world to take a tour of Colonial Williamsburg. I think this is because I live about 20 minutes away and take it for granted! But, now that I got to a college in the middle of nowhere I am very thankful to live so close to multiple historic areas such Colonial Williamsburg!

⋅⋅⋅Thanks again @livyluwhoiloveyou⋅⋅⋅

Bullet journaling has been all the rage on Pinterest. Naturally since I saw everyone else creating one I had to start one. In fact, my 2017 resolution was to make a bullet journal and actually keep up with it! Unfortunately, I have started it, but, I haven’t been keeping up with it.

Before I share my bullet journal I just want to say that my bullet journal is NOT perfect. I’m slowly working on it and if you have any suggestions please leave a comment (please I need help).

I purchased my journal from Barnes & Noble for only $10. I bought a cheaper one because a little part of me knew I wasn’t going to keep up with it very well. I decorated the plain journal with washi tape that was purchased at a local craft store.

For the month of March, I kept my title page simple! This isn’t my cutest page but, it didn’t turn out too bad! fullsizerender-1

My previous title pages were a lot cuter. All I did was cut out scrapbook paper and glue it to the page! It’s super easy and it gives your pages an extra pop. If you have a Tuesday Mornings near you I highly recommend that you go there! That is where I purchased most of my scrapbook paper for about $5. They have a large section of art and scrapbooking supplies for a great price!

Here are my previous monthly pages:

This month I actually made a monthly layout. Normally I don’t because I’m a perfectionist and I get irritated when the blocks aren’t all the same size. It does take a lot of time but, it looks super cute!

•••Remember to make your lines in soft pencil so when you erase it you can’t see the lines that were once there.

Yes, I know it’s weird that my days of the week are at the bottom. But, this is because I made my blocks too large! Putting them at the bottom saved me from ripping this page out and starting all over again! I’m trying to accept my mistakes.

At the top, I put a quote that caught my eye. The quote reads “Learn when it’s best to bite your tongue. Temper the nest of hornets in your loveless mouth”. Next, to the quote, I put the month of April so I know what the month is going to look like. Honestly, I just did this to fill the space (oops).

Below the month of April, I put a notes section so I can jot down important things that are going to happen within that month. This is supposed to help me remember things but, I will probably forget.

Now, for my weekly spread, I kept it simple. For each week I typically plan out one week at a time. This helps me get my mind right for the week that is ahead and if I want to change my weekly spread I can!fullsizerender-3

My goal for this month is to doodle little things that I did for each day. Also, I am going to leave a large space on either the left or right side of the page so I can write a quote in new, font. This will help me step my calligraphy game up.

For my last page, I created a simple memories page. This is where I will glue everything that I have acquired over the month.I love the idea of this page because it will be nice to go back and look at all of the fun things I did during that particular month!

img_3378

I left the page to the right blank for a reason. On this page, I will glue my favorite photo from this month and journal about that day. I will write about why that was my favorite photo and what happened!

Fingers crossed that I actually go through with journaling this month! I really want to be able to look back and see the things I’ve done and how I have grown in my artistic abilities.

It’s important to remember that your bullet journal doesn’t have to be perfect. Yes, Pinterest has some beautiful bullet journal pages but, it probably took that person hours to create that page! The beauty in a bullet journal is that it’s messy and it’s not organized! It’s all of your thoughts, plans, and ideas in one cute little journal!

Other pages I’ve done:

“You did not wake up to be mediocre”

Have you ever met a girl who knew exactly what she wanted and was never afraid of going after it?  Being confident in who you are is such a great personality trait that anyone can have!

In college, it’s important to know who you are and what you want so you don’t get lost. You want to stand out and be successful. You want to be a girl boss! Being a girl boss is all about how you carry yourself and how you present yourself to the world! It’s time to get it together ladies! Here are 5 easy ways to become a better you; a girl boss!

KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND OWN IT

In college, you are surrounded with so many different people. But guess what? You aren’t going to get along with everyone. It’s important to stay true to who you are as a person. So what if you’re not like everyone else! This is what is going to make you stand out. I know personally, I love it when someone is 100 percent them and OWNS it! Dress how you want to dress, listen to the music you want to listen to, and join the organizations that YOU want to join. You will be much happier if you are 100 percent you! Plus, there is only one of you on this earth.

DRESS TO IMPRESS

I walk around campus and see girls who look like they just rolled out of bed. Long t-shirts, workout shorts, and unbrushed hair. But, let’s be real, this is all of us sometimes and that’s okay every once in a while. Dressing up for class will make it appear that you have your s*** together ( even though must of us don’t). Also, if you look good you will definitely feel good.

“CAN’T” IS NO LONGER IN YOUR VOCABULARY

No one likes a negative nelly. Instead of thinking that you can’t do something or that you will suck at it, TRY it! Honestly, what’s the worse thing that can happen? If you aren’t good at something at least you tried your very best! Who knows, you might find a new hobby or something you rule at!

RESPECT YOURSELF

This one is super easy! R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me YOU! Respect equals respect! That meaning, if you respect yourself others will respect you. This could open many doors for you and make life so much easier.

THE GRIND NEVER STOPS

This one is key to being a girl boss!  It is very important to use every single minute of your day effectively. Stop taking those 2-hour naps in the middle of the day and start working harder! Start doing things that will better your future instead of staying out until 3 A.M. Trust me, your hard work will pay off (literally$$$)!!!

HNCK3991

Listen, ladies, it’s time to start putting yourself first! Wake up, eat breakfast, get dressed and kick butt EVERY SINGLE DAY! Nothing is better than accomplishing your goals. Being an empowered woman is all about being confident, kind, and driven. So go out their girl boss and make life your b**** and never forget to ask for what you want!

“Surround yourself with positive beings”

February has been a very productive month for me. This was the month that I officially started my blog! I have had this idea for a couple of months but, I was so busy that I never got around to it. Also, I was a little afraid to start it. I was always thinking that people wouldn’t read it or like it. Once I got past that fear, I bought my domain name and now here I am. I was thinking negatively like I always do.

Previously when I was living with roommates I was always thinking about the worst possible scenario and never putting myself out there. But, now that I live in a one-bedroom apartment things have changed for the better. When I first told everyone that I was living alone I got the same response. “Why? That sounds super boring to be by yourself all the time”. Well, let me tell you, living by yourself is awesome. You don’t have to listen to anyone and you get to be your authentic self.

Being my authentic self was the theme for this month. I sat down and made a list of everything I wanted to achieve and how to get there. I finally put myself out there and joined student ran organizations that would help me better my future. I stepped out of my comfort zone and wasn’t afraid of getting denied.

I started a bullet journal, I got back into working out, and most importantly I dropped all of the dead weight in my life. This was the month of realizing that if someone or something wasn’t making a positive impact in my life it was time to let it go. I realized that going out every weekend isn’t necessary. It’s true no one is going to care if you missed that party. I started studying more and focusing on the positive things rather than the negative things.

My anxiety is at an all time low because I have surrounded myself with positive, like-minded people. That saying “you are the company you keep” is very true.
