Wow, hi followers! I know I have been completely MIA lately but, I just went on a super fun trip to NYC and wanted to share some photos with you guys. I can catch you guys up on all the boring stuff later!

I remember the first time I went to New York City and  I absolutely fell in love and said to myself this is where I want to be. Fast forward 5 years and I still get that feeling every single time I visit.

The weather was freezing cold this time so my mom and I focused our attention on going to museums. Shopping for me isn’t really a priority since I have tons of clothing and everything is super expensive.

Here is a list of the major places I visited while I was there for 5 days.

  • MoMA
  • The Met
  • Ripley’s Believe It or Not
  • Chelsea Market
  • Black Tap

I hope you enjoy my photo diary! If you know any cool spots in NYC that aren’t “touristy” please comment! I am always looking for cool places to visit.

DAY ONE

The drive is about 8 hours long. My mom drove the first 4 hours and then we switched. This meant that I had to drive through the city. Let’s just say that the lanes are a suggestion. Also, if you have to switch lanes don’t hesitate and don’t be afraid to get hit. All in all, I handled it pretty well but my mom was a little scared in the passenger seat.

Since we got to the hotel later in the day, we decided to go to the Ripleys Believed It or Not museum in Times Square. Normally, we wouldn’t choose to do something like this but, we wanted to fill our time with something different. Also, I hate Times Square with a passion. It’s one of those places where you only need to go once.

DAY TWO

MoMA was our next stop on this trip. I was really excited about this because I have never been able to go! We started at the top level at worked our way down. I would highly recommend this way to anyone who visits any museum. If you think about it, it’s honestly the most logical way to do it. This was by far my favorite part of the trip!

On this day we also went to eat at Black Tap. You will probably recognize this restaurant because the milkshakes are super famous. I would highly recommend Black Tap. The service was really good and the food came out very fast. But, a burger is $18….

This $15 milkshake was worth every penny. I decided to get the Cookies and Creme one. That giant cookie is actually a massive oreo ice cream sandwich!

DAY THREE

This day out of all the days was the most interesting day. The temperature was freezing and we got stuck in a snowstorm. I didn’t pack properly so I wore suede boots and by the time we got outside my toes were soaking wet and I couldn’t feel them. This resulted in my mom and I having to find a store that had rain boots. Thank you Payless, I owe you big time.

Since it was snowing like crazy we spent most of our day in The Met. Let me just say I have seen enough Renaissance paintings to last a lifetime. The museum was massive and not to mention there are two other museums that you get to see when you purchase a ticket. By the end of this day we were cold, tired, and over museums.

DAY FOUR

On our final full day in NYC, we decided to go to Chelsea Market. I didn’t take many pictures due to the fact that I go there almost everytime we visit. On the day that we went, it was international women’s day and we were able to get flowers for free. The flowers were beautiful and it was such a sweet gesture. I wanted to go to Dumbo on this day but, I was so tired that I forgot. Dumbo is a must if you ever visit the city!

On the fifth day, it was time to leave. It’s really depressing to go to NYC and then go back to school. Hopefully, I will be able to live and work in the city but, until then I will continue to visit this amazing city any chance I get.

It’s the beginning of a new month so that means its time for me to catch you guys up with what I have been up to!

October is by far my favorite month. It’s finally getting cold enough for cardigans, the leaves are changing, and it’s almost Halloween!

Here are some of my favorite moments from October

this one
My niece, Olivia

At the beginning of the month, I went home to spend time with my family. We all met up at this cute little festival to take some family photos.

The pictures came out pretty good! We desperately tried to coordinate outfits but, we clearly didn’t.  Also I never smile with my teeth ( I have braces).

Every year I always come home to go to Howl-O-Scream. I dont have to pay for a ticket due to the fact that I have a Seasons Pass! Even though I have to go through the mazes with my ears closed and my eyes half shut, I always have fun!

While I was home again ( I went home for two weekends) my mom had started to decorate. My mom decorates for every holiday. I think thats where I got my love for decorating from. We also celebrated my sisters birthday that weekend.

Once I came back to school it was time for Halloween! Halloween is honestly my favorite holiday. I love getting all dressed up and just having fun with some friends. During this week my parents surprised me with a little care package.

Influenster Dorm Life Voxbox

Last week I received my first Voxbox from Influenster! If you guys don’t know what Influenster is, it is basically a website where you fill out surveys and give reviews. Every once in a while you will get an email that will ask you to take a survey to see if you are qualified for the next Voxbox!

IMG_3038.JPG

My box took about 2 weeks to get to me. I think this is because I go to school in the middle of nowhere.

IMG_3037-1.JPG

Here are all of the FREE goodies I received from Influenster! I actually got two different packages of Sour Punch Mini Bites BUT I ate the other package before taking this picture (oops).

IMG_3039.JPG

One of the items I received were these tampons. Not much to say about these because, well, they’re tampons and they get the job done. But, this is the brand I ALWAYS use.

FullSizeRender-1.jpg

Next up is this acne body & face scrub. I have crazy skin. Sometimes my skin is oily and then its dry. Honestly, I cant remember when my face wasn’t broken out. This scrub leaves my skin feeling so nice. I’ve only used it twice so far so I don’t know if this stuff actually works.

I was really excited when I saw I got nail polish! I honestly paint my nails a different color every other day. Only because I pick it off but, I still love to paint my nails. The pink is in the color 24/7 and the purple is in the color PURPUNK. The purple color is an overcoat & it gives your nail a shattered effect.

OKAY now, this dry shampoo is SO SO SO good! It’s been super humid where I am at for the past week & this stuff has been amazing. The only bad thing about this product is that it is white. So you really have to be careful about how much you put in your hair!

IMG_8779

Another thing that was in my box was this protein bar. I normally don’t eat them because they’re normally super chewy and gross But, this Balance bar in the flavor cookie dough wasn’t too bad.

IMG_8530

Lastly, I recieved this yummy pack of Sour Punch Mini Bites. I actually got two different packs but, I ate the other ones. I shouldn’t be eating these at all because I have braces BUT I couldn’t resist!

That is what I received in my Dorm Life Voxbox. Thank you so much Influenster!! I can’t wait to see what I get in my next box!

Be on the lookout for my September monthly update!

“Old ways won’t open new doors”

I’m sorry I’ve been MIA again! This month has been extremely busy for me school wise. So what that means is me trying to get my shit together.

Since my sophomore year is coming to an end I thought I would reflect a little on how this year went!

I started this year extremely excited and open minded. I was going to be living in a new apartment with 3 other girls and I could not wait! Here is a list of juicy and exciting things that have happened!

1.The apartment of 4 turned into an apartment of 2. I don’t want to go into much detail but, let’s just say this situation was MESSY.

2. Since this issue happened I was out of school for 3 weeks. This made my first semester extremely difficult.

3. Halloween came around and that was fun. Here is a photo of my costumes. Yes, that is plural.IMG_1917IMG_1899

4. Two weeks before the end of my first semester I made the decisions to move to a one bedroom apartment. This was by far the best decision I have made in a while.

5. Because of this decision, I had to pack ALL of my stuff up AGAIN and take it home just to move it back a third time. So yes, I had to move 3 times.

6. I killed all of my exams and went out with a close friend of mine to celebrate (those are virgin drinks btw).Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

7. Christmas break was fun and all but I was ready to move into my NEW space!! Here are some photos of my new crib.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetProcessed with VSCO with hb1 presetIMG_3026IMG_3028

8. Second semester classes were great except for one. But no worries I already gave that teacher a bad review.

9. I received an internship position through Live Nation for marketing and Social Media.

10. I was able to help with Spring Weekend. We had bands such as Small Pools, The Ying Yang Twins, and Bowling For Soup.

IMG_0135.JPG

10.  Greek Week happened and well, that was a mess. But a fun mess.

IMG_0133.JPG

As you can tell my life isn’t too exciting. This semester I learned a lot about myself. I lost some close friends along the way but, I have also gained new ones. Nothing is wrong with out growing people. With that being I said I wish them nothing but the best.

Now, with summer a week away I can’t wait to share my experiences with you and to actually start blogging more!

“You did not wake up to be mediocre”

Have you ever met a girl who knew exactly what she wanted and was never afraid of going after it?  Being confident in who you are is such a great personality trait that anyone can have!

In college, it’s important to know who you are and what you want so you don’t get lost. You want to stand out and be successful. You want to be a girl boss! Being a girl boss is all about how you carry yourself and how you present yourself to the world! It’s time to get it together ladies! Here are 5 easy ways to become a better you; a girl boss!

KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND OWN IT

In college, you are surrounded with so many different people. But guess what? You aren’t going to get along with everyone. It’s important to stay true to who you are as a person. So what if you’re not like everyone else! This is what is going to make you stand out. I know personally, I love it when someone is 100 percent them and OWNS it! Dress how you want to dress, listen to the music you want to listen to, and join the organizations that YOU want to join. You will be much happier if you are 100 percent you! Plus, there is only one of you on this earth.

DRESS TO IMPRESS

I walk around campus and see girls who look like they just rolled out of bed. Long t-shirts, workout shorts, and unbrushed hair. But, let’s be real, this is all of us sometimes and that’s okay every once in a while. Dressing up for class will make it appear that you have your s*** together ( even though must of us don’t). Also, if you look good you will definitely feel good.

“CAN’T” IS NO LONGER IN YOUR VOCABULARY

No one likes a negative nelly. Instead of thinking that you can’t do something or that you will suck at it, TRY it! Honestly, what’s the worse thing that can happen? If you aren’t good at something at least you tried your very best! Who knows, you might find a new hobby or something you rule at!

RESPECT YOURSELF

This one is super easy! R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me YOU! Respect equals respect! That meaning, if you respect yourself others will respect you. This could open many doors for you and make life so much easier.

THE GRIND NEVER STOPS

This one is key to being a girl boss!  It is very important to use every single minute of your day effectively. Stop taking those 2-hour naps in the middle of the day and start working harder! Start doing things that will better your future instead of staying out until 3 A.M. Trust me, your hard work will pay off (literally$$$)!!!

HNCK3991

Listen, ladies, it’s time to start putting yourself first! Wake up, eat breakfast, get dressed and kick butt EVERY SINGLE DAY! Nothing is better than accomplishing your goals. Being an empowered woman is all about being confident, kind, and driven. So go out their girl boss and make life your b**** and never forget to ask for what you want!
